Yes, there it happens again, something that has happened again and again and again. This week a series of things that have been in the news starting from the Ruchika case to a little boy falling in an open manhole. Hasn't all this happened before? Actually the title 'This country needs sorting out' would have suited this post but, unfortunately I can't use it again. I speak against injustice (well most of the time) and this is what I will be doing in this post.
A few years ago, there was a boy named Prince who fell in an open manhole and it started happening again and and again, it became like a cycle and recently it's happened again, so no, we haven't learnt from our mistakes.
Most of us know about Jessica Lal's case and we also know about her killer being spotted at a nightclub while on parole because 'he had to take care of his sick mother' who looked fine to me. Like her there was Priyadarshini Mattoo and now there is Ruchika the 14 year old who was molested and traumatized to the point of committing suicide 19 years back. Imagine a 14 year old girl, just in this world for 14 years, she was just my age and I'm sure as vulnerable as me. This girl could have become something great in these 19 years that her friend and family have been fighting for justice. I can't understand how Rathore, her molester can be such a monster, it makes me sick, I have no words for him. He is supposed to be that person who helps people like Ruchika but he was the one who led to her downfall. This is the Ruchika we know about but what about so many Ruchika's who are silent and still suffering.
Hats of to the media for taking on so many things. I think Indian media is very good and very underrated. Yes, they have made mistakes but, they are still good. I also think people who have the courage to fight against injustice should be awarded.
Now going a little back to the past. How many of us remember who Scarlett Keeling is? That 15 year old girl who died in Goa. That has happened again with a Russian tourist and some stupid minister has justified the fact that she was raped by saying 'she asked for it' the same way the fact that Scarlett Keeling's murder and alleged rape was justified. Yes she might have been promiscuous, into alcohol and drugs, her mother might have been careless and she might have had many problems and yes that provokes all this but that does not mean she should be raped and murdered. I have seen Goa deteriorate in front of my eyes, I feel Goa becoming more and more unsafe and I go there almost every year. I would say the only innocent thing in Goa is the beach, a lot of thought has to be put in for the safety of Goa.
How many of us remember that Salman Khan has to be behind bars? Why is this guy out of jail? He has killed people and animals. But, he's powerful right? His films do well right? So, that gives him the right to do what he did right? He has covered up what he's done with that charity that he gives and expects us to forget it. Well, I'll say one thing loud and clear "IN HIS DREAMS".
There are many more things that are going on. What does all this say? That our law and order is going down the drain. That can be seen by many things. For eg- The traffic rule we don't follow. People need to start respecting the law. Is India really on its way to development? Has India and by that I mean India as a whole not Indians, not you, not me INDIA, has India really invented anything new? Is only Economic growth occurring isn't there any Economic development occurring? (Learning Economics, the subject I don't like finally pays of). My dear readers this post might have been long and boring and just some meaningless angst but, There lies one very important message 'Lets break the cycle of injustice' and speak against what we don't like cause we are the revolution. Together we can and we will do it. Peace forever.
(I don't own this picture, it is from the net.)
....But you need to keep believing that you can change the world. Keep fighting
